TMI offers two Early Childhood course formats, differentiated based on the experience of the candidates.
Bayview Campus
Offers two courses to earn the same diploma. the full time and the part time course.
The full time course introduces early childhood Montessori education through hands-on learning in a fully functioning Lab School. This course is open to candidates holding a university degree or ECE diploma.
The full-time course runs for 10 months following the academic calendar year from September to June. You will benefit from an integrated learning environment which reflects your future profession. Classes are held Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm during which you are immersed in learning about the Montessori experiential approach to education. Daily lectures, demonstrations of curriculum materials, observations, participation in our lab school community and practice teaching will support your understanding of today’s child and develop classroom management skills.
The part-time Early Childhood course is open to candidates working in an early childhood Montessori classroom and hold a university degree or ECE diploma.
The part time Early Childhood course offers an intensive program that runs for 10 months following the academic calendar year from September to June. The academic contact hours are two evenings, 6:00-9:00 pm, a week, plus two Saturdays, 9:00 am – 3:00 pm, on average per month. Observation and practice teaching must be arranged outside of class time. Additional practice with materials outside of course hours is necessary.
